Hi everyone. As you know we have packed up our lives for two years and are off to Sydney and the sunshine. We are hoping to find work and travel but if all else fails we will be back! We hope that you will keep in touch and add comments to our blog.

Palm Beach ....or the set of Home and Away...

We had planned to head up the coast this week but things are going well in the hostel and that keeps making it difficult to leave. We decided to take a beach day and had heard that Palm beach was meant to be one of the best beaches on the coast near Sydney but a bit further away. It took us about an hour and a half on the bus to get there. When we arrived we walked along the beach and headed for the surf club, it wasn’t open though, its just used as a set when they are filming. We thought that was all there was to see so decided to head back towards the ferry port to meet Chris but we got lost and ended up stumbling on the Home and Away production team and cast who were setting up to do the filming. Of course we decided to stick around and told Chris to come and meet us there. Both of the boys were very excited to see some actual filming although its so far ahead over here we had no idea who many of the characters were that we were watching. After a while we saw Xavier arrived, who me and Nigel remembered from our Home and Away watching back in England which was of course our preparation for coming out to Oz! The boys went off in search of some cast members and Nigel even managed to get his picture taken with one of the actresses, she plays Ruby one of the school girls, he was very smug for the rest of the day! After our little excitement we headed for lunch and then decided to take on one of the scenic walkways. It wasn’t as strenuous as it first looked although you wouldn’t think this looking at Chris! When we reached the other side we had stunning views of the beautiful Palm Beach, time for a few quick photos and a play around on the beach and then we headed for the bus to take us back to Sydney.

We will be seeing Chris and Kath this weekend for some tennis hopefully, and we are going to our first soccer game in Australia, come on the Mariners!
